Landscape and Surroundings<\/strong><\/h1>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text el_class=”t-left”]The Stronghold is located in the highest part of Arignano<\/strong>, in the Medieval core<\/strong> of the village, in whose centre we can find the square called Piazza della Parrocchia dell\u2019Assunzione di Maria Vergine,<\/strong> the union point between the eighteenth-century Baroque architecture<\/strong> of the church and the Stronghold itself.<\/p>\n

On a clear day the sight from the panoramic terraces sweeps over the Monferrato hills<\/strong>, spotted with small villages and their towers, a testimony of the common Medieval past.<\/p>\n

The Basilica of Superga<\/strong> in the back suggests that beyond the hills spreads the city of Turin. The Alps<\/strong> are placed all around, silent witnesses of the life flowing on these sweet uplands.<\/p>\n

Arignano Lake<\/strong>
\nLocated just a few hundred metres from the Stronghold, the lake is the perfect arrival place for a stroll among the green. Thanks to the prohibition of arriving by car, it preserves intact all its naturalistic characteristics.<\/p>\n

Vezzolano Abbey<\/strong>
\nOne of the most important examples of Romanesque and Gothic style<\/strong> in Piedmont, located in the Albugnano<\/strong> town, in the province of Asti. The double inner aisle, divided by a finely decorated bridge, continues in the outside cloister. The frescos<\/strong> and the ribbed pointed-arch vaults<\/strong> are particularly suggestive.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”10px”]\t

\nDe Amicis<\/strong> wrote about it: \u201cThe view from the Superga Hill is bigger and better than its own fame\u201d<\/em>. Built at the beginning of the 1700, with its 75 metres of hight, it towers above the city of Turin and all the surrounding hills. A part from being a place of worship and a museum, today it is also the destination of tourists and sport lovers of every football faith, that every year gather in this place to pay homage to the players of the \u201cGreat Turin\u201d<\/em>, whose plane crashed beyond the Basilica on the 4th of May, 1949.<\/p>\n

The Monferrato Area<\/strong>
\nA sea made of hills that smoothly follow one another between Alessandria and Asti. Vineyards, woods, small villages and the warmth of the \u201copen\u201d<\/em> cellars, always ready for a taste of Barbera or Grignolino inside one of the typical Infernot. A landscape of traditions, to be discovered on foot, by bike or by car.<\/p>\n

Medieval Chieri<\/strong>
\nRenowned as the city with the aristocracy\u2019s hundred towers, Chieri preserves still today its Medieval layout and its fourteenth- and fifteenth-century buildings, its Arch of Triumph, the symbol of the city, the cathedral and the Baroque churches.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”8535″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
